If you are sweet lover you must try this recipe of malpua. This is a healthy version of traditional malpua. Traditionally malpuas are made from maida and sugar syrup. During festivals like Holi, Diwali, Teej malpuas are commonly served as dessert in many home.
But now we have to take care of our health without any compromise with taste. It is very yummy soft inside and crisp edges. Also easy to make with our kitchen ingredients.
Today I am going to make malpua without sugar syrup. You can put malpua in foil paper and store for 2-3 days in freezer. And enjoy this cool malpua with rabri. It is very good option for school tiffin or handful snack for kids.
So here we go…
INGREDIENTS:
- Whole wheat flour 1 cup
- Banana ½ mashed
- Sugar ½ cup
- Milk 1 ¾ cup
- Green cardamom powder ½ tsp
- Refine oil for fry
Method
- In a blender jar add sugar, banana and milk blend it.
- Take a big bowl add whole wheat flour mix with banana mixture.
- Make lumps free flowy batter add green cardamom powder mix well. Cover and keep in rest for an hour.
- Heat a kadai or fry pan put refine oil or ghee.
- Take a big spoon batter and place gently in centre of kadai or fry pan.
- Fry on medium high flame, so, it cook well from inside also.
- Fry the malpua till it golden brown in colour it take 5-6 mins to fry a malpua.
- Then remove from oil with help of strainer. Put on kitchen towel or tissue paper to remove extra oil from malpua.
Now ready to eat, best to serve hot.
Cool malpua with rabri is also very yummy in taste.
Tips to make perfect soft malpua
- Always measure right ratio 2:1 .if 2 cup wheat flour add 1 cup sugar. It will give you perfect sweetness.
- Don’t add too much banana in batter as it will stick in the pan.
- Make sure to use cool and full cream milk for best taste.
- Batter should be lumps free thick and flowy consistency.
- If batter is more liquidy or thin, it will free flowing. When you put in frying pan it will spreads in the pan.
- For make soft and fluffy malpua keep the batter in rest for an hour or beat the batter very well.
